India has conducted the test of its nuclear-capable Prithvi-II ballistic missile around 9 a.m. from a mobile launcher from Integrated Test Range's launch complex-III.
Prithvi-II ballistic missile awas test fired by the Indian armed forces and it has been termed as successful. Indian Strategic Force Command fired the 9 metres missile propelled by the rocket engines using liquid fuel.
Missile has a range of 350 kilometers and it can carry a warhead of 500 kg.Prithvi-II ballistic missile was test fired at a predefined target in the Bay of Bengal.
India had earlier testes nuclear capable Shourya ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur off Orissa coast. Shourya is a two-stage missile which uses solid fuel and it has a range of over 700 kilometers.
