The Deputy Chairman of the Iranian National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, Hossein Ebrahimi has said that his country will ‘definitely’target the NATO’s missile defense system in the Turkish province of Malatya if United States or Israel attacks Iranian nuclear or missile installations.
Hossein Ebrahimi said, “We are closely monitoring the relations with Turkey in the National Security Commission of the parliament. Iran has warned before Turkey that the deployment of the system will have grave consequences. General Hajizadeh’s remarks are entirely true and when we were attacked, it is our natural right to defend ourselves.”
In an interview to a local newspaper, Hossein Ebrahimi said that Iranian military forces will target the missile defense system sites in Turkey as it will protect the NATO forces.
Earlier the Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force has said that Turkish installations will targeted in case of a preemptive strike on Iranian defense and nuclear facilities.
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has already conveyed concerns to the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.
