India has successfully test fired 5000 kilometer (3,100 miles) range nuclear capable, Agni-V Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) at 8:40 am today from the launch complex-4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Wheeler Island, off the coast of Odisha.

The 17.5m long Agni-V Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) is designed to hit targets deep inside China, Pakistan and much of Europe with one-tonne nuclear warhead. The Agni-V is a three stage, solid propellant Agni-V Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) has a launch weight of 50 tons.

 Spokesperson of the Indian Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has said, “The test was successful” and “It hit the target in a predefined trajectory. It met all the mission objectives.”

  1. well ... its really proud to see our efforts give fruitful results ... kudos to scientists on successful testing of Agni-5. Have read many comments which says instead of spending money on missiles spend money for food, water and blah blah ... even though we need food and water we are also need missiles like these to protect ourselves from growing intrusions and provoking from neighbor countries like china and pakistan. with the insertions of Agni-5 missile into our defence systems we will surely protect our land ....
