India To Order Defence Equipment Worth $5 billion from United States

India plans to order additional defence equipment under four major defence deals which will be worth almost $5 billion from the United States. Deals will include

• Additional six C-130J Super Hercules transport aircrafts at cost of $1.2 billion.
• Twenty two AH-64D Apache Longbow Block III Attack Helicopters at cost of $1.4 billion.
• One hundred and forty five 155mm/39-calibre M-777 ultra-light howitzers at cost of $885 million.
• Fifteen Chinook heavy-lift helicopters at cost of around $1 billion.
