MQ-8C Fire Scout VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has completed its first flight successfully from US Naval Base Ventura County at Point Mugu. MQ-8C VTOL  UAV has maximum weight of 2.7 tons and it can carry payload of 1,000 lb.

MQ-8C Fire Scout offers an endurance of  24 hours and it can carry AGM-175 Griffin missiles, APKWS II guided 70 mm rockets and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles to strike targets.
