Indian Strategic Forces Command (SFC) will test fire medium Agni-II ballistic missile from Wheeler Island off the Orissa coast next week. Indian Strategic Forces along with the DRDO are currently preparing the launching complex since last few weeks.

This user trial of the Agni-II ballistic missile by the Indian Strategic Forces Command (SFC) is planned to happen between August 29 and 30.

Agni-II ballistic missile is a two-stage missile system which is powered by the solid rocket fuel. 20 m long Agni-II can carry payload of one tonne to a range of 2000 kilometer and weighs 17 tonne. Agni-II ballistic missile uses strap-down inertial navigation system for guidance.
