Soviet Antonov An-71 Madcap  AWACS aircraft was designed to be used on the Soviet aircraft carrier Admiral Kuznetsov. 

Antonov An-71 Madcap AWACS was based on the An-72 with redesigned rear fuselage to carry rotodome of for the Radar.

Antonov An-71 Madcap was to carry six operators on board. 

First Antonov An-71 Madcap flew on 12 July 1985. 
Antonov An-71 Madcap was rejected in favor of the Yak-44.
