The Z-8 Super Frelon Airborne Early Warning (AEW) helicopter has been outfitted with a retractable, rotating AESA radar to provide 360° to provide areal early warning coverag while operating from the aircraft carriers of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy).
