Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov has said that RSM-56 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) is ready for serial production. Russia had successfully test fired Bulava SLBM from the new generation 'Yuri Dolgoruky' strategic missile submarine on June 28.
It was the fifteenth test launch of the Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missile. Missile test was conducted from the White Sea and it was able to hit its target in the Kura test range in Russia's Far East Kamchatka region.
RSM-56 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) has a very unrelible track record in tests as only 8 out of 15 missile test were declared successful by the Russian military. The three-stage RSM-56 Bulava (SS-NX-30) SLBM can carry up to 10 hypersonic, maneuverable warheads and has a range of over 10,000 kilometers.
