Royal Australian Air Force has received its first KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport Aircraft. KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport will fill the gap created by the retirement of RAAF's Boeing 707 in mid-2008.
RAAF's KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transports are equipped with an Aerial Refuelling Boom System (ARBS) and two Cobham 905E under-wing refuelling pods.
KC-30A will be operated by No. 33 Squadron of the RAAF which is based at RAAF Base Amberley.RAAF is scheduled to receive three additional KC-30As later this year and fifth KC-30A will be delivered in 2012.
