Russia has completed the sea trails of fourth-generation Severodvinsk nuclear powered attack submarine and Russian Navy is scheduled to receive its first Severodvinsk submarine in late 2011.
Construction of new generation Severodvinsk class submarine in 1993 at an estimated cost of $1 billion.
Russian will be able to carry 24 long-range cruise missiles with range of 5,000 km and have 8 torpedo tubes to launch torpedoes, mines and anti-ship missiles.
Severodvinsk submarine displaces 13800 tons and can dive upto depth of 600m. It is 119 m long, carries a crew of 90 and has top speed of 35 knots.
