German Defence Minister Thomas de Maiziere has informed the German parliament's defence committee that under new plans to cut the defence budget of the country, German air force (Luftwaffe) will have to reduce its order for Eurofighter Typhoon twin-engine, multirole fighter jet by 37.
Germany will now only purchase 350 Puma infantry fighting vehicles instead of planned 410 and order for the Eurocopter Tiger (EC 665) gunship helicopter will also be reduced to 40 from earlier planned order of 80.
Order for NH-90 medium military helicopters will also be reduced to 80 and now only 4 Eurohawk RQ-4 will be Purchased instead of 6.
