Iranian Navy Inducts Three Ghadir Class Submarines

The Deputy Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN), Rear Admiral Gholam Reza Khadem-Bigham  has handed over the three Ghadir class submarines to the Iranian Navy. These small submarines are designed for shallow water operations in the Persian Gulf.

The 120-ton Ghadir class submarines can carry torpedoes to attack the enemy ships. These submarine can also be used to lay sea mines. Iranian Navy have eleven such submarines.
